Ben Swift, winner of the Tour of Britain’s King of the Mountains competition while riding as a ‘stagiaire’ for the Barloworld team, used his regular Trek Madone 5.5 that he and the rest of the Great Britain squad have been on all season.
Trek hasn’t supplied the GB team with the new Madone, but this does not seem to have harmed their results.
Cannondale, Barloworld’s bike supplier, must be a little miffed to see the team rack up another KoM title yet do it on a Trek — surely they will be more prepared next time!
Another talent from the GB under-23 squad, Swifty certainly gained some positive exposure during the Tour of Britain.
