Richard Abraham Cycling Weekly writer

Richard's first experience of professional cycling came after riding to France to watch the Tour at Alpe d'Huez, a four-week trip which confirmed a love for the sport kindled by magazine clippings, his first road bike, and the Tour of Britain.

Three years studying, riding and racing in the North East of England served to fuel the flames, and he joined the IPC team in 2011 from a job riding rickshaws and working in a bike shop in his native Oxford.

Since then he has reported from the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and the World Championships along with a number of events closer to home in the UK. He also covers cycling when it falls under the political spotlight and can often be found heading up to Westminster during the winter months.

When he's not writing for Cycling Weekly, Richard likes to explore the rest of the world on two wheels and include as many coffee stops along the way.
