Leipheimer to ride Tour of Missouri

Levi Leipheimer

Levi Leipheimer is due to make his comeback from injury at the Tour of Missouri (September 7-13). It will be his first race since abandoning the Tour after breaking his wrist in the final kilometres of stage twelve to Vittel.

He will also joined by the likes of Jani Brajkovic and Yaroslav Popovych on Astana's team in Missouri.

It was announced yesterday that the 35-year-old has joined Lance Armstrong's Radioshack team for next season; more of his Astana team-mates are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks and months.

The seven-day stage race in the American Midwest has also attracted the likes of Mark Cavendish (Team Columbia-HTC), Thor Hushovd (Cervélo Test Team), Franco Pellizotti (Liquigas) and Jens Voigt (Saxo Bank), also back in action for the first time since his horrific crash at the Tour de France.
