Now i know all magazines are full of adverts, and thats fair enough.. but i got a bit of a shock on page 22 of this weeks comic... an advert for a Mercedes-benz CAR.
I expect in a T-d-F special for the comic to be full of tour related news/adverts.. not car adverts and not more bleeping sportives advice.
Ok rant over... the rest of the comic is still a good read..

Cycling Plus once had an advert for something like "Hot Fast Car " magazine, and lost half their subscribers.
Would Skoda be acceptable? (TdF sponsors)?

Advertising departments don't care who the adverts are from, their job is to pull in the money.

But cycling is the new golf, and you always see Mercs in golf club car parks! Why do people associate cycling with poverty - we're not all paupers? I do prefer my Jag to any Merc, though.

I loved the answer one of the back page interviews gave
What car do you drive?
Skoda Octavia, if it's good enough for TdF it's good enough for me.

I am, I spend far to much on bikes, I blame the dealers having so much nice stuff tugging at my wallet!!

Being a pauper means you can't afford food, not a new bike (and not being able to afford food because you've just spent the money on the new bike doesn't count)!
