Spin-ups?
      #24018 - 18/06/2008 09:09

In the 4 week quick start plan, for those of us who have been out of action for a while, there is a session of "spin-ups":

4x2 mins spin-up and hold

What does this mean? Purely aim for a high cadence i.e. 100-120 or should this be spinning up a big gear for a hard effort for 2 minutes? How hard should it feel?

I've been out of action for a while to.
The Spin-up session I do is:
8 x30secs spinning up to a maximum rpm and then maintain for the 30secs. (I spin up untill I start to bounce on my saddle) And a rest period of 4mins 30secs.
I am still spinning a small gear at the moment, but will start getting the bigger gears moving after some practice.
Hope this helps
Dave
