North West Germany: bike much missed with every single road made with about 3ft wide cycle lanes on each side, immacculate condition and all drivers giving cyclists LOADS of room, combined with a 170km "cycle path" (racetrack quality tarmac!) running along a river. that was a difficult week to be without a bike
