Chances are you need to re_proof it with a wash in stuff made by Grangers or Nikwax, it stops the outer wetting through, costs about £6. When I was in the mountain rescue team I used a Berghaus, kept it proofed and it kept all water out and still does 10 years on! Try that before you spend on a new jacket, if a seam is leaking it wont work but chances are it will, I proof mine each time it's washed.You can get the wash stuff too which keeps them good. Go to an outdoors/hiking shop and they will sort you out.
