Got a Winter training jacket from Foska( IRN BRU design
) never been caught in a downpour , - only have them in Summer when I'm in short sleeves and shorts etc. 
- but have been out in some rain 
, anyhow these jackets are very warm water resistant rather than water proof 
not that cheap at 85 quid 
, keep the wind out and have breathable panels at the sides as well as good pockets 
,one zipped!
