Well I spent slightly less than that on a Bianchi Via Nirone Veloce Compact, mainly because I fancied not going Shimano and a compact seams sensible, a couple of people made mutterings on here about the fram and my LBS always has a window full of Bianchi to drool over.

I guess that doesn't help?
