Re: Ohuruogu wins gold

Can I say in regards to Christine, firstly good achievement to win gold. However, must say that if my fave ever athlete and hero Cathy Freeman had been running, she won have beat that entire field by half a second.
Anyway onto my main point, christine did a ras-mus and missed three tests in a year. She was banned for a year and not allowed to take part in the games until she won the worlds and was subsequentley re-instated, probably on the basis that she could medal. The British press were mixed when she won the worlds and I'm sure that she will be splashed about all over the papers tomorrow.
However, dwain chambers, also committed a drug offense, albeit his situation was less tolerable than Christines, and dwains made to feel like a leper. He served his ban, came back, was the best british athlete and was denied his chance. Could this be because the authorites knew he had no chance of medalling or were they just making a stance.
I'm not saying that dwain should have competed and i feel he should have had a life ban, as all dopers should have. It just seems as though the rules are being made to suit?
