I usually stuff a handful of Gels in the back pocket and these do seem to provide a boost when needed. I can't afford to buy energy bars as well, so I just take a banana, some ginger nut biccies, small packet of sweets, oaty cereal bars and loads of High5 drink. You could also stop at cycling friendly cafes en route. Then I try to eat within 30 mins of getting home. I have a glass of milk with brown sugar in and then a meal or a big snack. I don't get to ride everyday, but I have heard that rest days are extrememly important. Know it all has already mentioned doing other activities on your day(s) off, and he seems to know what he's talking about most of the time (annoyingly, on occasions...) Anyway, lucky you getting to ride all the time - sounds great! |
