big ride first timer
|
|
This is my first post on any cycling web site. My question is how do i prepare for a 100 miler in august. At the moment i ride 30 miles a day and some 40-50 milers on a weekend.i know i will do it but i,m just looking for a little more help.I enjoy hills even if my legs feel like disowning me at the top of a climb.I can do 16k,s in 22 minutes and 28 k,s in 40 minutes. Are these times any good as i am not in a cycling club?Thank you to anyone who can help me out.Oh and by the way i turn 40 in three weeks and these are the times that i am setting now.

22 mins for 10 miles! Great! You need to enter some tt's!

Are you serious or winding us up??
You must know that those are good times you're riding!
Sounds like you're putting in loads of regular miles, so you probably only need to start riding the odd 70 - 80 mile run, but otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if you blitzed it!
Is it a sportive you're doing? If so, which one?

Sounds like you'll be fine. If you can ride 60 miles comfortably then you'll be fine with 100. Keep going.

tell me im wrong but doing a good TT time wont help if you are cream crackered after 50 miles though
personally i would pace myself over a greater distance rather putting the hammer down for the first leg.
good times though, hard to do 10 miles in 22 mins in a bloomin car
