Woke up rather early this morning so thought I'd have an hour on the turbo trainer. I was wrecked at the end of the hour, felt a bit sick too, legs felt like lead. Any ideas on early morning food guys, I suspected it was because I would be running on empty after a nights sleep. Cheers

All you need is some carbs to replenish your sugar levels - a glass of orange juice would probably do it. Food will need to be digested so should be taken an hour or so beforehand. Stock up on carbs before you go to bed!

I can never eat loads in the morning, so its always a bowl of weetabix. Then around 10 oclock I get the munchies and stuff myself.

I usually go for the glass of fruit juice (pref not from concentrate - Adsa are dong a good one from Spain 'Don Simon' brand) - worth the money - it costs as much in Spain! Ole!! Then I usually go for fruit or cereal, or both. Or, sometimes some cereal, blueberries (if I'm feeling well-off) and plain Bio yoghurt all in the same bowl. A big pint glass of elderflower cordial and water, and maybe a black coffee.

Porridge.....simple you cant go wrong, always go for something with low GI (slow release carbs). Winegoblin no wonder you get the munchies eating weetabix...high GI....bad news buddy always go for something oat based even if it's a snack. I think nutrigrain do some oat bars which are good if you are in a rush.

You've cut me deep man! 44 years man and boy and you go and tell me that! Well cold turkey is out of the question, it'll have to be gradual. Please don't ever tell me I can't drink wine. That would just finish me

I used to do a lot of early morning training, often in the dark. A strong coffee was all I ever had , or could stomach.
Not sure that's the best way to go but it meant I could get the miles in before starting several, early starting, jobs.
I didn't get ravenously hungry until about 10 am. I no longer do early morning training/ commuting but never eat before 10 am. It's probably something psychological rather than physiological.

I normally go out straight away without any breakfast as I find if I have some then have to wait for an hour to digest, the kids are up and then thats it!
I do get hungry on the longer rides but if I take a bar of something it normally keeps me going until I get back.

There is an advert in one of the cycling mags for a bar/cake that replaces your entire breakfast - looked disgusting! Didnt really see the point, as you still have to wait to digest it, so you may as well have proper food!
For early rides over 1 hour I will always force down some porridge and get started on an energy drink. Sometimes takes a while to get up to speed, but better than feeling hungry whilst you're out, and risking the dreaded bonk.
Short rides I dont always bother, just eat when I arrive at my destination.
