If you're intent on appropriating the Linux logo you might like to read some background on how it came to be ....

Great, I love those unique sort of jerseys (especially Levi Leipheimer's). So if anyone can get it made just do it!

Has anyone got any experience of getting jerseys made, I see GB cycles have their own kit, also a few small sponsors to keep the costs down would be good, maybe our predictions sponsor again or someone else who advertises on the forum already. It would be nice if the comic would help too seeing as the jersey would have Cycling Weekly written on the front! Any official, important and kind people reading this??

If you're seriously serious about this I suspect you'll need to find out if using the Linux penguin is problematic, in terms of copyright/trademark - although their software is open source I'm not altogether convinced their logo is...

Yes, any 'original' artwork should be OK.
It may not be an issue on the scale of use we're talking here, but you know what American lawyers can be like when it comes to litigation.

only used the linux one because i can't draw on paper, nevermind paint!
just an example penguin. if anyone has a self-made non copyright infringing penguin please let us know, think we could do with reducing the number of penguins on it though

Don't know if they're already involved in the cycling world as a sponsor but, it might be worth emailing Linux, explaining the situation (limited run for a group of enthusiasts, etc.), they may give it the nod. It's all advertising for them - perhaps offer to include the word 'Linux' in the design, and/or their web site URL across the base of the jersey at the back, or something.

Before we get a hundred chiefs trying to sort out stuff can we decide one a big boss, Please step forward, Cattlegrid and I came up with the idea but I'm not that artistic or computer literate, never even sent an email 'til last week!! We need someone to forward artwork, contact Linux, find manufacturers, prices, numbers to order, take payments etc. All sounds very scary to me but would love to see it happen. Calling all brains!!

firstly we need to get a design made and agreed on. don't think linux will make a decision until we show them the design (if we decide to use their penguin) perhaps they would be willing to make a contribution to jerseys carrying their logo??
IS ANYONE WITH COMPUTER SKILLS WILLING TO CREATE A PROTOTYPE DESIGN CONTAINING THE PENGUIN(S)?

Sorry, no help on the penguin front but having looked at the Impsport website, I get the impression they could make it. It looks like it would be more like £50 than the £10 that everyone seems to be spending at Lidl/Aldi.
There may be cheaper makers
Just thought, Pingu is an easy to copy penguin,it would be hard to say that you had copied it though.

Maybe one of the art guys on the comic could rustle something up... and get the nod on the comic logo use.

Looks like you just gave yourself the job!
Surely the more jerseys that are ordered the cheaper they will be??
