Was the crash your fault? Not trying to apportion blame, but if it was then you need to address what you did to make it happen. If it wasn't your fault, then you need to evaluate how you got yourself into the situation and see if you can modify your behaviour to prevent a recurrence.

Only way to improve confidence is to get back on the horse, so to speak. When your doc tells you that it's ok to go out again, take it eay to start with but don't shy away from situations or roads that seem more scary otherwise I'd have thought this would make you more likely to prolong the loss in confidence. Good luck

My son had a similar accident, during a BMX race a while back. He just took it slow and only got on when he felt ready. Just go out for a 10 mile spin and relax take your time and eventually your confidence will return. Listen to the doctor, you don't want the bone to heal incorrectly and then you'll be off the bike for a LONG time. Just relax and take your time to start again, you will know when you are ready to start again. Listen to your body and your doctor, you'll know when the time is right. Good Luck, Eric
