I cannot find a copy of the CW beginners training program anywhere. I believe it was in a special edition but we get no cycling mags down here in the sticks .I have found supply of CW in Asda but that is 40 miles away where I work Is there somewhere I can order it from ?
I am overweight at 17.5 stone ,very unfit .Haven't cycled for 3 years due to back injury. Cannot swim or run or even walk more than 100 yds or so any more but I can cycle without problem.I used to be a 100+ mile a day roadie and triathlete so no stranger to a bike.
I would appreciate any advice or links to useful cycle training /weight loss programs .I expect I will join a local club again to help motivate me once I have established a basic level of fitness.

Can't help with the weight loss (apart from advising you to eat nutritious food with fewer calories than you're expending) but I'd recommend Pete Egoscue's book "Pain Free" to sort out your muscular imbalances.

thanks scm but its not so much muscle inbalance as no muscles at all!lol i've been doing a bit of searching on this site and I've discovered that the training program came in two parts in special Sring and Summer issues. I'll see if I can back order the Spring issue

You can try the CW online shop (the link is at the top of every page of the site). If they don't have any copies left, and if you can get CWs permission (ask Nigel, the deputy editor, who is on this forum a lot), I would be happy to photocopy the training plans from my issues and mail them to you.

Hi there.
I am interested in these training programs. Did you have any luck with the back issues? Which back issues do I need to get hold of?
Many thanks,
