Love the colours, collar and sleeve design but not so sure about the penguin in penguin in penguin thing on the front. For the back I would like to see the back of the penguin. Any sponsors on the rear pockets only to stop jersey looking cluttered.

Random comments as I reread throught the thread:

Impsport?
Don't mention they do women's sizes for the jersey, which is tedious.

If you're seriously serious about this I suspect you'll need to find out if using the Linux penguin is problematic, in terms of copyright/trademark - although their software is open source I'm not altogether convinced their logo is...
I know this has been covered already but to confirm, The Linux Foundation protect the Linux trademark and for using Tux they have a page here referring you to page mentioned by SCM.
Anybody in a club recomend whoever does there club jerseys?

Our club kit is made by a company in Italy. Not so cheap now that the Euro has strengthend.
Oh, and as a Microsoft Certified software developer, I could never wear anything with a penguin on it.
My vote is for the kangaroos

What do you think to this idea?

I haven't used Tux (SCM's avatar) as it is the Linux logo and although I don't hate freedom he is the Linux logo. If I can work out how to flex text in Inkscape I will but before I do attempt two I though I'd see if anyone has any comments...

I prefer Tux if we are allowed to use it or a cartoon/funny penguin with a happy face.

yeah i prefer a more cartoon-like penguin. if its something that makes people look and wonder what the hell you are wearing just think how much more obvious you will be to motorists!

I think Tux or Pingu are better. There may be images of Pingu on a bike somewhere (god knows where and probably copywrited).
A realistic penguin image is ok, but a bit dull.

Might it be an idea to contact Linux and see if we can have them "Sponsor" the jersey? They neglect the cost of the rights to the image and we put "Linux is streets ahead of Vista" somewhere on it?

If you expect literate people to wear it, please hyphenate "no-one" and use the correct spelling of "you're".

I believe it's a work in progress, pedant.
Sorry for the harsh language, but you started it. We all prefer Tux anyway.

Fizban is actually using a slightly different, more correct signature.

Well spotted, I like the idea of using "nobody" instead of "no-one"

Can someone from CW who has been following this thread please give us the opinions from the powers that be, if they can be of any assistance with manufacturers or helping with orders, sales, admin type stuff. I see you sell your own kit, could Tux(if we can get permission) sit in your shop but with some of the profits going to a charity that suits either the sport or public opinion of the forum members.. please help.

Harsh language? What did I say that was harsh?
BTW, I know I'm a pedant (if preferring to see the English language used and spelt correctly is pedantic) - you're obviously very observant, but not very bright if you thought I needed to be told.

Well done anyone who's making an effort to throw ideas in to the pot - it's the only way this will get any further. Keep it going!

Ok the story started about 3 weeks ago when there was a lot of threads going about, some getting quite bitter, eventually a comment was made about Scm being male or sexist or something like that. The reply quite rightly was to point out that the comment made was out of line since with the name Scm it was impossible to tell if that person was male, female or a penguin! There was another silly comment going on at the same time when to neutralise a thread that was turning nasty where myself and another could not agree on anything I threw in the comment that we would have to agree to disagree and I like kangaroos and have a jersey with them on, Cattlegrid then showed interest in that jersey so got the link to GB cycles with a comment made that he could'nt find a more kangaroo covered jersey. That brings us to the start of this thread where cattlegrid made a jersey covered in kangaroos, I said it would prefer penguins and make it into a forum jersey using Scm Tux logo and the comment about the anonimity of the forum which evolved into "online nobody knows if you're a penguin!
Thus ends the story so far!!!
