Classic news item on CW News page today. BBC have got all interested in cycling now there's a whiff of a scandal ie Japanese making payments to get keirin included as an Olympic event (allegedly!) 
I watched BBC News at 10 on Sunday. For those that weren't aware this was the day the Tour de France finished!!. I'd been away for the weekend and managed to escape knowing who won.
When it got to the Sports section at the end of the news, there was one item - a rugby league cup semi-final match. Not a single mention of who won one of the world's biggest sporting events. 
Now I know most of the British public don't give two hoots about cycling as a sport, but on balance I would think there are more of them than there are rugby league fans. That's not to denigrate rugby league (although I'd rather watch union) but come on. Isn't the TdF result worth even the briefest of mentions, even in the absence of a drug scandal on the final day?
The BBC has surpassed even it's own total disinterest in our sport, when it doesn't involve a scandal or a Brit.

Did you see the Top of the News? I seem to remember that I saw the Tour as the Second Main News Report on the BBC on Sunday.

Thought I did. Pretty certain there was nothing at 10:00. Remember thinking "here's an excuse for a good rant!"
