I see on the home page news that both Petacchi and DiLuca should be in the Tour of Britain. That should mean some good sprints with Cavendish and probably a win for DiLuca if he wants it.
I don't think I'll be able to see it this year, but it should make some good TV viewing (hopefully).

Why has it taken a whole month for the ToB to announce LPR is coming ?

Anyone know of an online route map? I'm wondering if the Stoke on Trent stage takes a loop through the Peak District.

I think it's on the Tour of Britain website. We printed off the itinerary. It doesn't go through the Peaks, but straight from Eccleshall (13:05) through Stone(13:20) and to then on to Stoke (13:50)
I was thinking of skiving off early from work to take a look as it slogs up Jiggers Bank but as the stage finishes before 2pm that's not going to work!! I suppose it finishes early because there's a long transfer to Hull that day.

Thanks TWA. Looks like I'll not bother skiving off again - did it for the Alp d'Huez stage of the Tour so a second bite would be doing it too brown anyway.

Having the same difficulty - cannot find an itinerary for either the Tour of Ireland or the Tour of Britain, and I am planning to take the finalés of the the first and last stage of the former and the London stage of the latter - HELP!

Thanks Helen, but I had been hoping for time itineraries, so I can work out when it is likely to arrive, and therefore when they are likely to close roads. I'll presume that there are none on the sites yet. Most frustrating.

Not seen any actual itineraries yet but you could put your name down for volunteering in your area and you might get an info pack with all that in it - you don't have to go through with it...

If you click on the individual stages on the Tour of Britain site the actual timings appear at the base of each stage description.

Except, of course, the first one. Thanks anyway TWA - I'm sure it will be up sometime in the week or two before.

Glasgow to Drumlanrig looks cracking! Over the Mennock Pass the steep way. Now know where I'm going to watch it.

I will see you there fozziebear, it will be easy to spot a large brown joke telling bear in that area...then a quick dash to Drumlanrig for the finish no doubt! They will fly down the Dalveen Pass.

Thanks a million Helen, all is clearer. Now to bully the Tour of Ireland into doing something similar!
Speaking of the TOI - anyone going to catch any of it? I'm catching the end of the first stage to Waterford (my old neck of the woods), and the Patrick's Hill section in Cork City? With the TOB London stage a week later, it's going to be a nice start to the Autumn and the resumption of work hostilities!
