Hmm.
The Rowing Figure seems just right to me in terms of an expected return on the investment, while cycling seems to show serious overachievement. Realistically, there is no way that a continued investment of the same amount (allowing for inflation) could possibly yield as good a return. In order to simply keep par, the figure would have to dramatically increase. Please note future people distributing Lottery funding. Cycling in Ireland has been failed in terms of such funding, which is very disappointing seeing as the Lottery there started the year one Irish man was world number one, and another won the triple of Giro, Tour and World Championship...
As regards the athletics figures, everyone wants to win in that, so while it may seem comparatively poor a return, I'd like to see the amounts being spent by the US, China, and Australia, and compare the results then.
