I was reminded as I watched the current Olympic women's mountain bike event, of Caroline Alexander, the Scottish champion who also, in the latter days of her racing career road raced.
I realise that mountain biking is not what we are really about on this forum but wondered if anyone can recall this girl's career. It would seem from my own investigations that she had vanished without trace. Such a shame for one who achievements were pretty damn good, any which way you look at it.
I do know that at the end of her career she was on the same Scottish team at the Commonwealth games of 2002 as a young Chris Hoy.

Something else that I do recall is that she was a pretty good looker.

She moved back to Cumbria and now has a young child and so has very little time for cycling, so I'm led to believe.

Was she Scottish, or from Barrow in Furness.
Eddie Alexander - Scots trackie - possible confusion?

Yes I too remember her angelic looking face, she was a really pretty girl
Wasn't she (or is she still?) 'shacked up' with Barrie Clark? (also ex-Raleigh term rider)

From Barrow, as far as I can recall

And very attractive

She was with Barrie, but he's now with Sue Thompson/Thomas?
Her dad won the 1st Red Bull Mountain Mayhem 24 hour solo at Sandwell. Roy Hunt was 2nd.
Anyhow, I digress. Yes, Barrow.

Yeah she was. Can't remember the year, but she rode for Scotland in the 2002 Commonwealth games where she suffered a puncture miles from the tech help bit IIRC.
Still rides a bit, but finished on the international scene after the games.
