July 14 1999, Giuseppe Guerini's stage win
Guerini's stage win on the Tour de France at l'Alpe d'Huez in 1999 is one of the most memorable stage victories.
Guerini had fallen off his bike on the last climb of the day thanks to an over-zealous supporter standing in the middle of the road trying to take a picture of the Italian near the finish line.
Guerini went down but he remounted quickly, regained his composure and went on to take the victory.
Lance Armstrong went on to win overall.
