Cycling Weekly spotted Jonathan Vaughters pedalling through Alpe d'Huez on the afternoon the Tour was arriving, looking like he was in a bit of a rush.

Vaughters, fresh from cycling up the Alpe on the morning of the stage, in “under an hour, just,” told CW that he was late for a meeting.

“I'm just going to meet Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones,” he explained.

It looks like Team Garmin-Chipotle have replaced Lance Armstrong as the only cyclists for the A-listers to be seen with. The celebrity couple got in touch with the team and asked if they could follow a stage of the Tour with them.

Armstrong was famous for attracting celebrity interest in the Tour, with Robin Williams regularly turning up to follow his friend's progress in the race. Last year Armstrong rode the Alpe up with his close personal friend, Jake Gyllenhal who once appeared in a film about a rabbit.
