Tour 2013 looking good for Sky

Team Sky celebrate, Tour de France 2012, stage 20

It looks as though the Tour de France will be celebrating its centenary in style if the leaked route is to be believed.

There are still two weeks to go until the official launch but we're going with the predictions of cycling super fan, Thomas Vergouwem who has been spot on with his rumours for the past three years.

A double climb of Alpe d'Huez just three days before the finish in Paris and a Mont Ventoux stage are two of the highlights of a route that again looks perfect for a British win.

With only three mountain summit finishes but two individual and one team time trial, it's custom-made for Sky, whoever they pick to lead the squad. It would be great to see a repeat performance by Wiggins but we are told that the 2013 Tour has been promised to Froome while Bradley tries for a Giro and Vuelta double. After Chris was forced to play the loyal team-mate this year it would be great to see him have chance to shine, but is Wiggins really ready to step down?

The Giro does have more than 90-kilometres of time trialling but it's certainly more mountainous than its French cousin with seven summit finishes. We don't know about the Vuelta just yet but when isn't it biased towards Spanish climbers? On the strength of the Tour rumours, France is definitely best for Bradley. Is it time for a Wiggo rethink?

I think it's not really important who rides it and I really don't think it matters. Lance is still a legend.

Not that it had anything to do with the above story, but you are right there Phil. Legendary doper.
