So what’s your score? I’m talking about this week’s big feature – 26 things to do on two wheels before you die.

If you’ve been into cycling for a few years you’ll probably be able to guess quite a few on our list and for those who have been riding a bike for a decade or two, you’ll very likely to have completed the majority.

Take a look, there are a few you’ll be able to second-guess but we’ve thrown in a few off-the-wall ideas for good measure. Unfortunately I can’t boast a clean sweep. There’s one on the bucket list that I’ve never attempted and another that I tried and failed. I’ll leave it to you to try and guess those but I can promise that within this office we can put a big tick alongside all 26.

Of course any bucket list has endless possibilities, especially cycling. We discussed 50, 100 and even bigger’ things to do’ lists but decided on a less is more approach. So what didn’t make it? Descend at 100 kph, tackle the white roads of Tuscany, ride in the snow, climb Tenerife’s Mount Teide, there is a seemingly endless supply of inspirational goals.

It’s the big appeal of bike riding. There is so much to do. Even after four decades on two wheels I’m really only just getting going on my ‘to do list.’
