Dillon Byrne led a one-two for Champion System-Maxgear team in round 14 of the CNDW Road Race League at Ulverston in Cumbria with a fantastic solo effort.

Byrne took off on his own and rode alone for 60 miles before being joined by team-mate John Rigby who he then beat in the sprint.

There was another one-two in the London Dynamo Summer Road Race when South East Region Champion Dante Carpenter took a solo victory for Pedal Heaven RT.

Chris McNamara monitored his team-mates late move and then led home the rest of the initial five-man break home in the sprint.

In the CC Hackney Road Race in Essex, Ashley Cox (CC Luton) gave a 13-man breakaway the slip to take a solo victory ahead of Michael Smith (Team Corley Cycles) in second and Simon Alexander (Twenty3c) taking third place.

Jamie Kennedy (Paisley Velo RT) and Dominic Hines (Velo Club Edinburgh) were category winners in the Scottish Veterans RR Championships held in Dumfries.

Kennedy took the overall win and victory in the 40+ category after showing he was the fastest of the seven man breakaway which was away for most of the race.

Hines finished in a depleted second group on the road and finished 50+ category winner and 11th overall.

Mark Baines (Spirit Bikes RT) took his second win of the season in the elite race of Shaftesbury CC’s criterium meeting at Hog Hill ahead of Andrew Nichols (Neon-Velo) in second and Michael Smith (Corley Cycles) in third.

Junior, Josh Evan (Hargroves Cycles RT) took a surprise victory in the Pete Biddle Memorial Trophy in Penkridge, Staffordshire.

Evans slipped away from a good field in the final four miles to solo to victory ahead of Dan Harris (Clay Cross) in second and Josh Williams (Paramount CRT) in third place.

James Mickelburgh (London Dynamo) took his second win of the season in the third category Surrey League Road Race beating Paul Drake (Cycleworks) into second and Ryan Smith (VC Meudon) into third place.

And Clay Cross Racing Team rider Steve Guymer took victory in the Thornton Trophy Road Race at Stamfordham in Northumberland on Sunday.

The 24-year-old from Cottingham held off Giles Harrison (Activ Cycles) for the win.
