This week entries open for the second Great Manchester Cycle taking place this June.
The fully closed road sportive was a huge success last year with over 7000 riders taking part, which included Lizzie Amitstead, Rebecca Romero and a number of TV celebrities.
The 2013 route will alter from 2012 and will start from Etihad Campus, which is situated close to British Cycling’s home at Manchester Velodrome, but will still include the ride along the Mancunian way, Manchester’s busiest motorway, which will be fully closed to normal traffic for the entire ride, offering an opportunity to ride roads usually closed to cyclists.
You can expect three distances to choose from on the 13 mile circuit; 13, 26 or 52miles costing £20 for adults and £5 for kids with children aged three to seven taking part for free.
