Behind the scenes on the Cycling Weekly Bike of the Year shoot

We couldn't have done our Bike of the Year shoot alone, and Volta Pro Tours helped us every step of the way

Cycling Weekly's Bike of the Year awards are a celebration of the best bikes that the cycling industry has to offer, and as such deserves a beautiful filming location to help them look their best.

To produce the films for the 2017 awards, we were invited to Portugal by Volta Pro Tours, a new cycling tour company that is looking to introduce more riders to a beautiful country that has gone largely undiscovered by foreign cyclists.

Henry Robertshaw began his time at Cycling Weekly working with the tech team, writing reviews, buying guides and appearing in videos advising on how to dress for the seasons. He later moved over to the news team, where his work focused on the professional peloton as well as legislation and provision for cycling. He's since moved his career in a new direction, with a role at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
