Bradley Wiggins told cyclingweekly.co.uk that he had watched some of the track world championships on television while he was riding the Criterium International, but had no intention of getting back on track just yet.

?For the moment I really want to see what I can do on the road. The last two years were really intense doing both road and track and so it?s nice to focus entirely on the road.

“We?ll see if I?m up to riding on the track when we get nearer to 2012. I might end up doing the time trial or just the team pursuit. Who knows? For the moment nothing has been decided or excluded.?

Wiggins was impressed with Taylor Phinney?s gold-medal ride in the individual pursuit at the Track World Championships and liked the idea that a possible battle with the young American could inspire him to return to the track.

?It was a world-class ride but I always knew he was capable of doing that kind of time,? Wiggins said. ?Him coming along could help me lift my game and make me go for the individual pursuit for one final time. It could be a great challenge and would produce a great pursuit.?

Wiggins will ride Paris-Roubaix on Easter Sunday and then take a short break before getting ready for a busy summer, where he will ride both the Giro d?Italia and the Tour de France.

?I?ll be riding the Giro to lay down the foundations for the Tour de France but we?re targeting the team time trial in Venice. I?ve got my eye on the final time trial in Rome but on stage wins as well. I?m not just a tester any more.?
