British Cycling reveals GB line-up for Track World Cup in Cali
National governing body announces British squad for the next round of the UCI Track World Cup in Cali, Colombia in January
British Cycling announced on Friday the GB team who travel to Colombia for the next round of the UCI Track World Cup between January 16-18.
With the team recording significant success in the World Cup so far, including four gold medals and a bronze at the previous edition in London, the 16-rider team will heavily feature young riders from the BC Olympic Academy Programme.
Shane Sutton, technical director of the team said: “I am pleased with how the team has performed so far in this World Cup cycle and we’re well on track as to where we want to be in terms of qualifying places for the Olympics.
“This has eased the pressure on us slightly and has enabled us to select a younger team for the final round, giving the Academy an excellent opportunity to step up and race at this level.”
