The British women?s team pursuit trio won gold at the Melbourne world cup earlier today, adding to their victory in Manchester at the beginning of the month.

Joanna Rowsell, Lizzie Armitstead and Katie Colclough narrowly edged out the Australian team in qualifying with a time of 3:31.578 minutes for the three kilometre event. They then backed up in the final to go two seconds quicker and snatch the gold by just over half a seoncd.
