Britain?s Mark Cavendish (T-mobile) continued to impress in the sprints finishes at the Tour of Denmark on Saturday.

The Manxman finished second to Italy?s Francesco Chicchi in the 95km morning stage, before the overall contenders fought for vital seconds in the afternoon?s 12.4km time trial.

Cavendish has been in the results in almost every stage of the Danish race. He was third in the opening sprint won by Chicchi and sixth on the tougher second stage. Yet again the T-Mobile team rode to set up Cavendish in the sprint, with his younger team mate and new stagiaire Ian Stannard also working hard during the short stage.

Matti Breschel (CSC) finished third in the sprint contested by 29 riders and so kept his overall race lead. The Tour of Denmark finishes on Sunday with the final stage from Præstø ? Frederiksberg over a distance of 175 km.
