For the second consecutive day, Mark Cavendish was the winner in the Tour of Missouri.

He crossed the line ahead of Sparkasse’s Eric Baumann to win the 126-mile second stage of the American race in Springfield. It means the 23-year-old Team Columbia rider retains the leader’s yellow jersey.

It is Cavendish’s 16th win of the season, and the 27th of his two-year pro career. A couple of weeks ago he won three in a row at the start of the Tour of Ireland.
