Chris Froome's black Pinarello Dogma 2 'bike number two' put up for auction by Cycling Weekly competition winner, proceeds going to charity

Chris Froome‘s Team Sky Pinarello Dogma 2 bike, which was used as his ‘number two’ machine during the 2012 Tour de France, has been put up for auction on eBay.

The bike was won by its current owner as part of a Cycling Weekly competition, but the 56cm frame proved too big for him and he’s decided to sell it, with all proceeds going to a selection of charities.

The bike comes with standard Sky spec for 2012, including Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic gears and Dura-Ace C50 wheels and was used by Froome to assist Bradley Wiggins to his Tour victory that year.

“This isn’t just some look-a-likey, this is the real deal! Scratches, wear marks, name badges, Team Sky mechanic modifications and all,” says the seller’s description.

“As you’d expect for an official bike that’s come straight out of the team’s service. Of course, the bike has been tidied up so the bartape, chain rings, chain and brake pads have all been replaced.”

At time of writing, there have been five bids for the bike, with £5000 reached.

Proceeds from the sale will go to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Carer UK, Cerebra and Action for Children.
