Track sprint legend Craig MacLean will attempt to set records for peak speed and fastest 500m at Rollapaluza event

Former track team sprint world champion and Olympic medallist Craig MacLean will attempt two roller records using Guy Martin’s Rourke ‘speed bike’, on which Martin set a new speed record of 112mph last year as part of a Channel 4 television series.

MacLean’s attempt using the unique, high-geared bike will take place at Rollapaluza Records Night at Look Mum No Hands! cyclists café in London on Saturday, May 24 as part of an evening of roller racing action.

MacLean and five other specially-selected riders will attempt two records – the fastest 500 metres and peak speed records, the latter of which will require riders to go flat-out to see how fast they can go.

Anyone attending the event will be able to have a go at roller racing themselves using standard bikes provided, and with a host of prizes on offer.

Look Mum No Hands! can be found at 125–127 Mare St, London E8 3RH. Entry to the event is free.
