To mark the film-themed nature of this summer’s London Nocturne on Saturday June 7, the event’s organiser is asking cycling fans to become film directors.

They’re asking you to tweet your cycling-related Vine video to @NocturneSeries including hashtag #LondonNocturne before Monday June 2 to be in with a chance of two VIP tickets to the night-time criterium event. The winning film will be picked by Garmin-Sharp pro David Millar.

VIP access to the Nocturne gets you inside the racing circuit, enjoying best views of the action. All food and drink is included as you witness penny farthings, folding bikes and lightweight carbon frames do battle on the 1.1km circuit around the historic Smithfield Market.

Millar is curating a film screening at the Barbican on the eve of the event (Friday June 6). The runner-up in the Vine competition wins two tickets to this sold-out screening.

As long as there’s some cycling related content in your video, then it’s eligible for the competition. Some of the best Vines will be shown at the film screening on June 6.

The London Nocturne organiser adds: “we do not recommend trying to video anything at all while riding your bike – in fact we strongly advise against it on safety grounds”. Sensible advice.
