Cycling Weekly has added five new events to its 2013 Sportive series (now seven events in total), which will again be managed on their behalf by UK Cycling Events.

The series, which will also be sponsored by Boardman Bikes for the second year, now features new events in Wiltshire, East Sussex, Devon, North Yorkshire and Worcestershire – adding to two already established Surrey-based events.

All CW’s events will offer participants a choice of routes, ranging from an epic ride for the more seasoned cyclist, to shorter courses, perfect for newcomers and leisure cyclists alike.

Chris Boardman – R&D Director and Co-Founder of Boardman Bikes, expressed his delight in being involved with the Cycling Weekly Sportive Series .

“2012 was an incredible year for cycling. Our partnership of the Cycling Weekly Sportive series and its huge success was one of our many highlights. This year Boardman Bikes are really pleased to again be the official partner of the new extended series across the country. We hope that everyone will be inspired to join us at the events and to take up the challenge of a sportive in 2013,” said Boardman.

Martin Barden from UK Cycling Events also added; “UK Cycling Events are delighted to be working with Cycling Weekly to expand their series of events to seven. The two events last year were a massive success with over 2,500 riders taking part and received glowing reviews. The expansion allows the series to spread geographically taking in some awesome cycling areas including the Yorkshire Dales and Dartmoor National Park.”

The Cycling Weekly team are also hugely excited about the expansion of the Sportive Series. Publishing director, Keith Foster said “The events are a perfect opportunity for the team to interact and ride with readers up and down the country. We hope to showcase the very best sportive day out”.

Entries are now open at Cycling Weekly online shop. Any rider completing four or more events in this years’ series will receive a personalised ‘Cycling Weekly Sportive Honours’ trophy from Cycling Weekly to recognise their achievement.
