Police appeal for witnesses after female cyclist in 20s dies as a result of injuries sustained after crash in Derbyshire

A female cyclist has died after crashing into a wall on Winnats Pass in Derbyshire on Saturday.

The woman, reported by the Derby Telegraph to be in her 20s, struck a drystone wall near Speedwell Cavern in the well-known High Peak beauty spot at 4.10pm on April 12 and suffered fatal injuries.

Winnats Pass is a well-used road by local cyclists and is included in the annual Tour of the Peak sportive.

Police have appealed for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident by dialling 101.
