DRUG FREE SPORT CAMPAIGN GATHERS PACE
The ?I Support Drug-free Sport? campaign continues to attract the support of major figures in the cycling world.
Tour de France director Jean-Marie Leblanc was presented with one of our transparent wristbands at the Tour of Britain Gala dinner in London, and former hour record holder and world pursuit champion Chris Boardman has also registered his support.
T-Mobile?s Mark Cavendish came third in Sunday?s Westminster stage of the Tour of Britain wearing a transparent wristband, and one of the men who beat him, Roger Hammond, was one of the first riders to support us. Nicole Cooke (pictured), who clinched the women?s World Cup at the Rotterdam Tour, is fully behind our campaign.
BBC Grandstand presenter Jill Douglas was also spotted wearing a campaign wristband whilst presenting the programme on Sunday.
Guardian sports journalist Richard Williams also ran a piece highlighting the campaign on Tuesday (September 5). The piece can be found here: http://sport.guardian.co.uk/columnists/story/0,,1864905,00.html.
The ?I Support Drug-Free Sport? campaign has been set up by Cycling Weekly and sister magazine Cycle Sport to advocate professional sport in which drug-taking is not tolerated. For more information, click here.
