Let’s be honest, we were on the phone ordering a test pair as soon as the Dymag name got mentioned.
Celebrated within the motorsport world, the brand has now turned its attention to the cycling market with its first range of six 3k carbon wheels. If the UK-developed wheels are anything like their motorsport counterparts, they’ll be a very interesting addition to the wheel market.
Details are presently thin on the ground, but we’ll expect more once the programme of wind-tunnel testing at Southampton University is completed. The wheels start with a shallow 24mm tubular rim and go up to a whopping 88mm deep-section rim in a mixture of tubular and clincher options, with the rim-only price (except for the 88mm) set at £270.
A full wheel-build with either Hope RS Mono or DT Swiss hubs and either CX Ray or double-butted Super Spokes black Sapium spokes (count depending on hub option) starts at £1,200 for a pair, with the 88mm £337.50 and £1,500 respectively.
