A bunch of riders on a clubrun in Australia came close to disaster when a hit-and-run driver overtook them at speed and cut in on them, causing them to crash. According to some of the 50-strong group, which included Olympic hopeful Ben Kersten, the driver?s actions were intentional.

The crash occurred as the group were travelling at around 50kph on their way out of Sydney. The driver of a saloon car passed closely before braking heavily in front of the riders, who had no chance of avoiding a crash. He then sped away, leaving the riders all over the road.
