FORMER national road race champion, Liverpool?s Pete Matthews had his three road bikes stolen from his garage last Tuesday night, on the eve of the Tour of Britain?s visit to the city (August 29).

?I?m sickened by this, all I?m left with now is my fixy,? said Matthews who had recently gone into semi-retirement. He sold his bike shop on Lower Breck Road to concentrate on his mail-order wheel building service.

Keith Bingham joined the Cycling Weekly team in the summer of 1971, and retired in 2011. During his time, he covered numerous Tours de France, Milk Races and everything in-between.
