The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome have organised an evening of roller racing and auction action in aid of the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust and Rollapaluza Outreach at Canary Wharf, London, on Thursday March 21.

The free-to-attend ‘Spring Opener’ evening will include a static bike racing competition, a charity auction and raffle, and special celebrity guests.

The auction will be hosted by comedienne Jo Brand and actor James Nesbitt, and will include 2012 Tour de France items signed by overall winner Sir Bradley Wiggins, high-end cycle clothing, artwork, cyclo-sportive entries and much more.

Further details and a full list of items up for auction/raffle can be found on the FHHV website.

Chair of the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust, Hillary Peachey said: “Herne Hill Velodrome is part of this country’s sporting history and we believe strongly that it should continue to serve people in the community as it has done since Tommy Goodwin won two bronze medals on this very track in 1948.”

“These events make a huge difference to our campaign through funding and awareness. Every little bit really does help in our fight to keep Herne Hill Velodrome open to the public.”
