British Rapha Condor JLT rider Graham Briggs scores stage and overall win in French race

Graham Briggs won the Tour du Loir-et-Cher stage race overall in France on Sunday, successfully defending the race lead from his stage three win until the race’s conclusion.

Briggs becomes the first British rider to ever take the honours in the UCI 2.2-ranked event and comes on the back of the team’s Tom Moses taking a stage of the Tour de Normandie in March.

“I knew that I was going well, and I’ve been close to taking some big wins already this season,” said Briggs. “I came here not expecting to win the overall but I wanting to make sure that I got the most out of my form. Winning a stage was already great, but I am over the moon to take the overall of a race like this.”
