German sprinter Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia) racked up his second win of the 2010 Eneco Tour in Heers, Belgium, on Monday.
Stage two winner Greipel took advantage of Team Sky’s lead-out for Edvald Boasson Hagen by jumping past the Sky sprinter to take the win. Jurgen Roelandts (Omega Pharma-Lotto) finished second, with Boasson Hagen third.
Earlier Greipel had fought hard to stay with the lead group over the Mur de Huy.
Greipel’s HTC-Columbia team-mate Tony Martin finished eighth on the stage to safely maintain his lead in the overall classification. Dutchman Koos Moerenhout (Rabobank) is the only rider within a minute of Martin, at 11 seconds.
Tomorrow’s conlcuding stage of the 2010 ProTour-ranked Eneco Tour is a 16.9km individual test against the clock – Martin must rank as one of the favourites for the stage win and it’s hard to see anyone usurping his position in the leader’s jersey.
