For the first time in the event?s 30-year history, the Horwich Carnival plays host to this year?s British Cycling National Women?s Circuit Road Race Championships as part of its packed programme of cycling and running races taking place on June 24, 2007.

Since its inaugural event on June 6, 1977, the Horwich Carnival has grown to include several national championships, as well as races open to all age groups and abilities.

All proceeds form the event goes to local charities, the Bolton Hospice and the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

The Horwich Carnival takes place in Horwich, Near Bolton, on Sunday June 24.
