JEBB WINS THREE PEAKS
WHEELBASE ace Rob Jebb broke the course record in the 46th Three Peaks in North Yorkshire on Sunday, taking victory by more than eight minutes from his nearest rival.
Kendal-based Jebb recorded his seventh victory in the famous 61-kilometre event, beating Tim Gould?s record of six wins in the tough race which takes in the peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent.
His winning time of 2-52-22 sliced 42 seconds from his own 2003 course record. His performance in the 2008 event proved too much for even the experienced Nick Craig (Scott UK) who was 8-16 back in second spot, while veteran Andy Peace (Science in Sport) was a third, 16-37 back.
With Craig still within sight of Jebb, the Wheelbase rider attacked as he reached the bottom of Ingleborough and got a gap on his rival which he widened as the race continued.
?I had a really good ride,? said Jebb. ?I didn?t get any punctures, and the conditions were ideal. I really wanted to get a seventh win and take the record, but to break the course record as well is a real bonus.?

Provisional result.-
1 Rob Jebb (Wheelbase-Gore) 2-52-22
2 N. Craig (Scott UK) at 8-16
