Leipheimer smashes the opposition in Spain

The American Levi Leipheimer smashed the opposition in the second stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon today, a 28.2km time trial around Palencia.

The Astana rider set a time of 33-17 for the course, with last year's winner Alberto Contador 0-18 down, whilst Leipheimer also snatched the race leader's red jersey.

Dave Zabriskie (Garmin) was third at 22 secs whilst Stef Clement (Rabobank) lost 49 secs to Leipheimer to take fourth.
