Welsh sprinter crashes in sprint semi-final at the British National Track Championships in Manchester

Team USN's Lewis Oliva took a spectacular tumble at the National Track Championships in Manchester last weekend as he lost out to Matthew Crampton (Sptin-Team) in the semi-final of sprint event.

Both riders appear to cross each others path as their wheels collide, however Oliva came off worse as he crashed, while Crampton went on to take the silver medal in the final against Callum Skinner (The Rigmar Racers).

Welshman Oliva recovered to compete for the bronze medal against Philip Hindes (Sprint-Team) but lost the first two matches of the round to finish fourth overall.

Oliva later joked about the crash on Twitter, saying:
