Lizzie Armitstead has joined her fellow Cervélo team-mates in the Canary Islands for her first team training camp with the team.

The Yorkshire rider, who turns 21 today, joined fellow Cervélo Briton Daniel Lloyd at the team’s get-together in Tenerife.

The men’s and women’s riders trained together at the week-long camp which ends on Sunday.

With warm winter weather in Tenerife, it’s the ideal opportunity for the riders to get some base mileage under their belts in an informal atmosphere before 2010 starts proper.

Armitstead and Lloyd will certainly be glad to see some sun after large parts of Britain were hit with a deluge of snow fall last night.

After a short break for Christmas, the riders will gather again in the Algarve in mid-January for the main two-week long camp.
